We did use a heating pad in her crib just before we set her down (removing it before she got in, just used it to warm sheets). Mobiles are awesome. I splurged on this one because Lucy HATES being in her carseat awake and it was a game changer: http://www.diapers.com/p/tiny-love-take-along-mobile-99487?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_D&utm_term=TL-057&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&CAWELAID=1338766806&utm_content=pla&ca_sku=TL-057&ca_gpa=pla&ca_kw={keyword}.<br />Sorry for the long comment! The first 4 months can be brutal and feel like they will never end. But it does!! Hard days do not mean you are failing. I actually think that trying to go to the library in the rain was a brave thing- it's easy to let the difficulty of getting out with two children overwhelm you, just take it a day at a time and count outings as victories no matter how they go. Courage and take heart for God loves it when we listen to Him in the midst of and through life. - In recent years I've had the thought that one of the biggest teaching resources God uses in our lives after our spouses (and often in a much more soul stirring or piercing way) is our children.
