Here's something I've been pondering of late ( being back in a house full of boys will do this to you)....what is your favorite go-to "feed lots of people" meal?
Something yummy, but not horribly terrible for you, or overly expensive would be good...
Let's here your thoughts in the comment box! ( I'm going to be super sad if I get no comments here..)

Lasagna! Not expensive - feeds lots of people - you can make it a day or two beforehand - and it's wonderful reheated (assuming you have any leftovers...). :)
Chili. Did I ever give you my spicy chili recipe?

Poppy Seed Chicken
chicken (ccoked rotisserie is easy and yummy!) cut up
16 oz of sour cream (fat free works just as well)
2 cans of cream of chicken soup (again 98% fat free works just as well)
3/8 cup of melted butter (cant believe its not butter)
3 teaspoons poppy seeds
1 1/2 sleeves ritz wheat crackers (crushed)
Combine everything in a bowl except 1/2 sleeve of crackers. stir and then pour into a 9 x 13 casserole dish top with remaining crushed crackers. bake in oven at 350 for 20 minutes. Serve over egg noodles.
Swiss Chicken Casserole is really yummy not particularly good for you buts its really easy and not too expensive if you get a good deal on chicken. You could add brocolli to it to make it better for you. You can also make it in a crockpot if you need to save time. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Swiss-Chicken-Casserole-I/Detail.aspx
PS. I miss you!
Any kind of soup.
Also, we've had several large-ish parties with a "Build your own" bar- tacos, pizza, and chili. Not that expensive if you ask each guest to bring a favorite topping and you supply the "staples."
I have a doc from our ministry leader here of the recipe she uses for big gatherings. If you email me (aggie rudy 3 @ gmail.com) I'll send it to you.
Here's one of my husband (a man's) favorites:
Indian Corn Soup
1 large onion
1 green pepper
1 pound ground meat
1 can whole kernel corn (or 2 cups frozen)
1 can tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1/2 can water
1 Tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
1. Brown meat in Butter, add onion and gr. pepper and cook until limp.
2. Add rest of ingredients and simmer 15 to 30 minutes.
King Ranch Chicken cassarole or spaghetti with pink sauce (mix a jar of marinara with a jar of alfredo sauce)
I like to serve vegetarian fajitas cause they're fast and make a lot. You julienne cut 2 squash, 2 zucchini,2 bell pepper, 1 onion, and 1 pkg sliced portabello mushrooms. Layer them in that order in a greased 9X13 casserole dish. Shake fajita seasoning generously on each layer. Bake covered at 400 for about 40 minutes- uncover for the last 5 or so. Serve with sour cream, black beans, and tortillas. I've fed this to ultimate frisbee and high school boys and have been asked for the recipe each time.
Also go here for a recipe to Spicy Sloppy Joes- fast, easy, serves 6-8 and has tons of vegetables: http://sites.google.com/site/middlebrookcook/spicy-sloppy-joes
The most simplistic meal would be grilled cheese sndwiches. You can splurge on pepper jack or other varieties. A bag of chips. You are done. Not particularly nutritious but men love them.
Either Hodgepodge or chicken spaghetti (the chicken spaghetti recipe can be frozen, so you can just stick it in the oven and voila! (or "viola!" as Trina would say. Add garlic bread...definitely, men-pleasers.
Almost forgot...baked potatoes with barbecue (you can get it frozen at HEB) or chili on top.
From a pad guy who has been suppling hungery soldiers for years, the best advise I can give you is Costco or Sams Club. Costco has this wonderful bag of Chicken Pasta that is super easy and quick to make for less then $9.00 and it easily feeds 4 people.
However some other common dinners; Spaghetti, Shepards Pie, Tuna Casarole, and pretty much any rice dish. Seriously Abi, you ever need an idea just let me know.
